Travel & Stay

Accommodation

For our wedding weekend, we wanted to escape the big city and enjoy a few days on the beautiful Spanish coast. Calella, a small town in the Maresme coastal region, is just 10 minutes by car from the wedding venue — the perfect spot to relax and celebrate together.

We’ll be staying in Hotel Kaktus Playa from Friday to Monday and would love for you to join us there! If you book through their website, you can use the promo code JOHANNAYLUIS for a 5% discount.

Of course, we know everyone has their own budget and preferences — the good news is, Calella is small and everything’s close by. We’ve put together a list of alternative accommodations you can check out below.

About Calella

Calella is a small seaside town about 50 km north of Barcelona in the Maresme region — not to be confused with Calella de Palafrugell on the Costa Brava. With its long sandy beaches, pine-covered hills, and relaxed atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot to slow down and enjoy the Mediterranean coast.

Once a quiet fishing village, Calella grew into a lively yet easygoing beach town, known for its lighthouse from 1859 and its welcoming spirit. You’ll find narrow old streets, local cafés, and sea views almost everywhere you turn.

We chose Calella because it’s close enough to the city to reach easily, but far enough to feel like a real getaway. It’s also only 10 minutes by car from the wedding venue. We can’t wait to spend the weekend there with you!
